good day everyone, my brother is about to make a travel to USA in the couple weeks and we have been discussing if its the right time to make a jump to AM5 systems and if so, the aim is to get a ryzen 7800x3d.

motherboard:

cpu

ram: ???? (we plan to do 2x16gb)

the only issue i have here is which timings (pc5 ????) so maybe someone could enlighten me a bit on this regard.

now going back to the question at hand, is it worth to make the investment now for this system or just wait for whats to come with the upcoming possibility of the end of the year of the new ryzen 9000 series?

we are currently on a ryzen 5600x, 4070 non ti, 2x16gb ram.

i know this is just speculation and such but it would help to get an outside opinion on the matter, rather than just our own, thanks for your time !

Go with a 6000MT's kit with CL 30 EXPO it is the sweet spot for AM5.

Of the ones you listed the

Model F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NR

Is the closest match at CL32

Pretty much anything on that list that is 6000 CL30 is your best bet though.

*edit * Addressing your second question on weather to wait or not. If you are coming to the states and are able to cash in on the prices vs your local market I would say go for it as you will enjoy of the benefits of DDR5, X3D cache on a newer node that sips power ( AMD has tuned X3D amazingly).

Then down the road just plop in a Ryzen 9800X3D chip when you feel the next itch to update.

Yeah the concern mostly comes from amd stating that am5 socket will be supported only till 2025, which is pretty much around the corner, otherwise seems like a solid jump imo

Yeah the 9000 series has been confirmed to be supported in the AM5 socket so it will be a drop in upgrade path down the road for future proofing.

The only question is the rumor that 9000 series is better suited for 6400MT's kits with as it has a rumored higher FCLK. So that may be even more performance to wring out of AM5.

The alternative would be waiting 2 ish years and hoping pricing doesn't suck.

I'd say go for it.
